Self Reliance in Tourism Industry

The tourism industry is at a standstill. The world is seeking ways to mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic and during the time being when we’ll get over to this situation how we can be self reliant in our tourism industry.

 We can follow and focus on certain points:-

1) We have to promote our local handicrafts of various places as we are famous for our stone work, embroidery, bamboo and wood crafts etc. with help of local bodies and government.

2) Promoting the Indian destinations to be travelled throughout the country which was earlier discussed by the Prime minister of India.

3) Connectivity to these places with respect to various facilities should be kept in mind.

4) One can offer packages of rural tourism as it will be helping the local people and communities.

5) Motivating and encouraging people for domestic travel for various types of tourism and promoting by the help of government and other operating bodies.

6) Introduce new education programmes which will lead to field work and exploring the unexplored and rural destinations in form of study tours.

7) Government should start campaign where they discuss and give training session to local tour operators and travel agents and sharing the insights.
